The news can make politics feel distant, exhausting, or designed for someone else. I believe the opposite is true: public life belongs to all of us, and the conversation gets better when more people feel welcome in it.
That is why I make room for the questions behind the headline, the local choices that shape daily life, and the people doing the patient work of public service.
